I had my last ensemble group recording last week!
Big shout out to Sarah, Music Director of the choir. She was being very accommodating and efficient while we were organizing the recording session. I'm very appreciative and honored to work with someone like her. The choir performance was professional and high-standard. The session went for an hour and a half and took two hours to complete the set up.
Microphone Placements:
I chose three different stereo miking techniques, including: AB Spaced Pair, ORTF and Decca Tree, using RØDE NT55s, Neumann KM184s and Neumann U87s respectively. Besides this, I had a Neumann TLM103 as a solo mic, as well as two Shure SM58s on the ground for the boomwhackers. All the stereo mics are at the height of around 2.5 meters

All of the stereo microphones are at the height of around 2.5 meters; the piano was miked up with two sE4400s in Spaced Pair as well. For the ambience mic, I chose to use Neumann KU100 and placed it at the audience perspective.
We recorded five songs, two with piano and the other three Acapella. One of the songs has clapping in it, I had to be careful on the gain of the microphones and make sure the levels were healthy. The session went for around an hour and a half.
Special thanks to my classmate - Liam O'Brien for assisting the whole session.
